On Sept. 5, one of Broadway’s longest-running shows will play its final performance.
Mam Mia will wrap up production after 14 years.
This has been one of the biggest musicals of all time and it's fair to say that it's an international sensation. The $2 billion plus-grossing musical, which features the catchy song by the Swedish pop group ABBA also features the compositions of ABBA songwriters Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. It's a dance-in-the-aisles musical.
By the time it closes, Mama Mia will have 5,765 performances, just on Broadway. But the show has played (and continues to play) all over the world.
The show has been at the Broadhurst theatre since 2013.
Prior to that it sold out the much larger Winter Garden theatre.
